An engineer from Essex, recently had a six-figure share win of the £2,355,880 Lotto jackpot. The lucky winner, Daniel Williams, was one of the lucky ten whose number choice matched all six main lottery numbers, which made him the winner of £235,588.
About four years ago in Greece, our winner, who is now aged 23, was given a fortune cookie at a Chinese restaurant while he was having dinner along with his girlfriend Christina. Since then, he had been using those numbers to play in the lottery but hadn’t managed to win more than £36 until now. The fortune cookie proved to be indeed fortunate and Daniel is enthusiastic about making a few of his dreams come to life.
Daniel says: “We have always wanted to go travelling but couldn’t afford it, now thanks to the lotto, we can – it’s brilliant. I randomly picked my Lotto numbers before we went on holiday, but then decided to take the numbers from the fortune cookie: 11, 12, 22, 23, 24 and 36 and have stuck with them ever since.”
“I didn’t realise I had won until a member of Camelot called me”, he said. “I was in shock. I initially thought it was a prank call so checked the numbers in a newspaper and then again online when I got home. I decided to have a bit of fun with my family so kept my win as a surprise and invited the mover for the evening. The champagne was on ice for when they arrived. We all celebrated together.”
